This film—starring Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Angelina Jolie—was the hit of the summer of 2004. An editor at Penguin-Putnam thought this story would be right up Kevin's alley, and asked him to write the novel version of the story.

Kevin says this is the best and most entertaining script he has ever been asked to work on. The book was released in June 2004 and the film was released in September 2004.
